Mr. Hays, the Principal of Hays Health Care Consulting, has more than 30 years of experience in the field of health plan management. He has held senior management positions with Blue Cross and Blue Shield, Metlife Health Care Network and Generations Family Health Plan. Mr. Hays also served as Senior Consultant for the Medimetrix Group, a leading managed care consulting firm.
During his tenure there and in his other roles, Mr. Hays gained extensive experience in all phases of health plan operations including network development and provider contracting as he developed four HMOs and was active in the management of others. While his consulting practice has focused on network development and contracting, Mr. Hays can use his background in health plan management to provide interim management services to health plans that have a need for an executive to temporarily fill a key position.
Mr. Hays’ most recent assignments include the re-contracting of providers for a national HMO and assessing the managed care activity in several major markets for the pharmaceutical industry.
Mr. Hays is a graduate of John Carroll University with postgraduate studies in business at John Carroll and the Weatherhead School of Management at Case Western Reserve University. His other interests include Habitat for Humanity, golf, tennis and woodworking.
