Mr. Marr has over 30 years experience in the field of information technology, 25 of which have been in the health care industry; 11 at the Chief Information Officer (CIO) level, and 2 managing a "Big 5" health care consulting practice.
Within the health care industry, his career has spanned multi-hospital chains, vertically integrated health care delivery systems, physician practices and clinics, HMOs, PPOs, and IPAs. In addition to his expertise in the field of information technology, he also has functional experience in management engineering, patient billing and accounts receivable, and total quality management (TQM).
During his career, Mr. Marr has been a member of many industry related professional associations such as Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA) and the American National Standards Institute's (ANSI) Accredited Standards Committee (ASC) X12 Subcommittee responsible for establishing national standards for electronic data interchange (EDI) in the health care industry.
He is an occasional guest speaker and writer on the subject of information technology, and has taught an accredited course in management.
Academically, he performed his undergraduate work at California State Polytechnic University and has taken a number of graduate level courses in information systems and technology. His personal interests include golf, tennis, skiing, fitness, martial arts, travel and investing.
