Mr. Saunders has over 30 years experience in the field of information technology, 22 of which have been in the health care industry; 20 at the Chief Information Officer (CIO) level, and 2 providing health care consulting.Within the health care industry, his career has spanned multi-hospital chains, vertically integrated health care delivery systems, physician practices and clinics, and national home care providers. In addition to his experience in the field of information technology, he also has functional management experience in Health Information Management, Patient Management, and Total Quality Management. His contributions to business and clinical outcomes include: strategic alignment planning; systems planning and architecture; information systems assessments; system selections and vendor contract negotiation; knowledge warehouse architecture and development; point-of-care technology evaluations; and organizational engineering. He has also facilitated teams of business and clinical leaders in the processes of strategic planning, process re-engineering, utilization management and best practice development. He holds a BA from Yale University, and an MBA from Columbia University. His personal interests include cooking, travel, and dirt track racing.
